Returning a Trailer at the End of a Route

How drivers return (check in) a trailer on the Equipment page

Overview

At the end of a P&D or Linehaul route, drivers must return (check in) the trailer in the Maven Driver App. This updates equipment status in the system and ensures the trailer is available for future assignments.

Prerequisites

  • Driver is signed in to the Maven Driver App.

  • The trailer is currently checked out to the driver on the Equipment page (shown in green).

Steps: Returning a Trailer

From the Equipment page in the app:

  1. Open the Equipment page

  2. Locate the checked‑out trailer

    • Checked‑out assets (truck and trailer) appear in green.

    • Confirm the trailer number matches the physical trailer being returned.

  3. Return the trailer

    • Tap on the trailer in the checked‑out list.

    • Select the option to Return or Check In (label may vary by configuration).

    • Confirm the return when prompted.

  4. Verify the trailer status

    • After returning, the trailer should move to the returned assets list.

    • Returned assets appear in grey instead of green.

    • The trailer should no longer appear as an active, checked‑out asset for the driver.

When to Contact Dispatch or a Fleet Admin

If the trailer:

  • Does not appear in the checked‑out list, or

  • Cannot be returned due to an error message,

then:

  • Contact dispatch or a fleet administrator.

  • Provide the trailer number, route, and time you attempted to return it.

Dispatch or fleet administration can verify:

  • That the trailer is correctly assigned in the system, and

  • That there are no open tasks (for example, unresolved DVIR defects) preventing return according to your company’s policies.
