Maven Dispatch Roles and Permissions

Who should use Maven Dispatch, what each role can do, and how it impacts routes and shipments.

what products does dispatch work with?

It works together with:

  • Maven Mobile App – used by drivers

  • Maven Fleet – used for fleet/ELD/vehicle monitoring

Common Roles and What They Can Do

Your actual permission model may vary by customer, but in most deployments:

1. Dispatcher / Planner

Typical responsibilities:

  • Create, review, and adjust routes

  • Assign or reassign routes to drivers

  • Add, edit, or cancel stops and shipments

  • Monitor in‑progress routes and ETAs

  • Resolve exceptions (refused, missed, or late stops)

In general, dispatchers should have full edit access to routes and stops in Maven Dispatch.

2. Operations Manager / Supervisor

Typical responsibilities:

  • View routes and route performance

  • Review exceptions and trends

  • Support dispatchers during busy periods

  • Approve key changes or process updates

Managers usually have:

  • View access to all routes and drivers

  • Ability to edit routes and stops if necessary

  • Access to reporting/analytics tools (if enabled)

3. Driver (Mobile App User)

Drivers do not use Maven Dispatch directly. Instead, they:

  • Receive assigned routes in the Maven mobile app

  • Complete stops, capture POD/notes/photos

  • Report issues through the app (refusals, delays, etc.)

Changes made by dispatchers in Maven Dispatch (e.g., route updates or new stops) appear in the driver’s mobile app.

4. System Administrator

Typical responsibilities:

  • Configure Maven Dispatch for the organization

  • Manage user accounts and permissions

  • Maintain integrations and data flows (e.g., orders/shipments feed)

Admins usually have:

  • Full access to Dispatch, Fleet, and Admin areas

  • Ability to create and manage roles and assign permissions

How Roles Affect Day‑to‑Day Use

  • Dispatchers run the day: they own route creation, updates, and monitoring.

  • Drivers execute the plan in the app and send back status + POD.

  • Managers oversee and step in when major changes are needed.

  • Admins maintain configuration and user access in the background.
