Troubleshoot missing automatic duty status changes (ADSC)
Restore automatic drive and on-duty events when the truck is moving
overview
Follow the steps below when:
The truck moves and the Maven app shows an active vehicle connection but no Automatic Duty Status Change (ADSC) events appear on the driver’s log.
Step 1: Confirm adapter power
-
Use the ADM / Atrack guide (or internal hardware tooling) to verify that the adapter (VDA) is powered on and reporting.
-
If the adapter does not show power or recent communication:
-
Arrange for a power cycle at a shop or maintenance location.
-
Advise the fleet that the adapter may need replacement if power and connectivity cannot be restored.
-
If the adapter has power and reports normally, proceed to protocol checks.
Step 2: Refresh the driver’s connection
-
Ask the driver to leave the vehicle in the Maven app (end the current truck connection).
-
Close the vehicle connection screen on the tablet.
-
Start a new connection to the correct truck using the normal vehicle connection flow in the Maven app.
Step 3: Confirm ADSC is working
ADSC works as expected when:
-
The log shows “Automatic Duty Status Change” events, and
-
The driver receives a Driving status automatically after the vehicle:
-
Exceeds 5 mph with standard rules,
-
Or reaches 25 mph while in Yard Move.
-
To confirm:
-
Coordinate a short test drive with the driver, if possible, and watch for an ADSC drive event shortly after movement begins, or
-
Monitor the driver’s logs in the portal over the next shift to verify that new ADSC events appear.
